Copyright-Wächter wollen Uni-Unterstützung gegen P2P-Tauschbörsen

Die Filmindustrie versucht inzwischen systematisch, gegen den Videotausch über Peer-to-Peer-Netze vorzugehen. Sie wendet sich dabei direkt an Provider und Universitäten, denen die IP-Adressen gehören, unter denen von DVDs gerippte Filme angeboten werden. Der DSL-Marktführer T-Online reagierte prompt und schickte ein Warnschreiben an Kunden, die beim Dateitausch aufgefallen waren.

Hinter der Aktion steht der Branchenverband Motion Picture Association (MPA) beziehungsweise die Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), der alle großen Filmkonzerne von Warner Bros bis Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer vertritt. heise online liegt nun eine E-Mail der MPA/MPAA an die Uni Münster vor, in dem auf einen konkreten Verstoß gegen das Urheberrecht unter einer IP-Adresse der Uni hingewiesen wird. Am 29. Januar seien dabei die TV-Serien Enterprise und die Simpsons sowie der Film Hannibal über Gnutella zum Download angeboten worden. In dem Schreiben verlangt die MPA/MPAA, den Netz-Zugang für den betroffenen User zu sperren und "angemessene Maßnahmen" gegen ihn einzuleiten.

Nach Auskunft des zuständigen Administrators, Klaus-Bolko Mertz, bekommt die Uni Münster derartige Schreiben schon "seit einigen Monaten". Die Betroffenen würden sofort abgemahnt und aufgefordert, den Netzzugang künftig nicht mehr zu missbrauchen. Offenbar arbeitet die MPA bei ihren Recherchen sehr präzise: Bislang, betonte Mertz, habe sich keiner der Verwarnten beschwert, er sei zu Unrecht abgemahnt worden.
