Bethesda has released a bundle of the classic id shooters "Doom" and "Doom 2", which comes with improvements and some new features compared to the original versions. If you already own one of the two games on PC or console, you can upgrade to the new package for free.
Basically, these are the familiar versions of "Doom" and "Doom 2", which have just been technically refreshed a little. The new features include the ability to play deathmatch games in online multiplayer mode across platform boundaries (crossplay). You can also play a four-player co-op mode in split screen - on the Xbox, eight people can even play at the same time.
4K with 120 FPS
Bethesda also promises improved performance so that the "Doom" games on Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC can also run in 4K resolution with up to 120 FPS. Official modding support via an in-game browser is also new. Modders can make their previously developed mods available so that users no longer have to download and install them from external sources.
Those who buy the "Doom" bundle for 10 euros or get the free upgrade can also play the chapter "Sigil" developed by John Romero and the completely new episode "Legacy of Rust", which was developed by some Bethesda employees.
