CPU rumors: New Ryzen 9000X3D, 7000X3D and 5000X3D
In addition to the Ryzen 9000X3D, AMD may launch further affordable X3D versions for the AM4 and AM5 platforms.
The Ryzen 7 5800X3D remains a popular AM4 processor. It could soon be joined by the six-core Ryzen 5 5500X3D.

A whole host of processors with a gaming focus could be released by AMD in the coming months. The new top gaming models will be the Ryzen 9000X3D – if the company maintains its product strategy, then in the form of the Ryzen 9 9950X3D, Ryzen 9 9900X3D and Ryzen 7 9800X3D. However, there will also be new X3D versions in the 7000 and 5000 series. They all use stacked extra cache, which can increase frame rates, especially in games.
AMD itself has confirmed that the Ryzen 9000X3D is coming, but has not yet given a time frame. While earlier rumors assumed a launch in October – around Intel's Arrow Lake aka Core Ultra 200 –, it is now not expected to happen until late 2024 or early 2025.
Several X accounts with contacts in the AMD environment have speculated that the Ryzen 9000X3D processors will be announced at the CES technology trade fair in early January. According to the website WCCFTech, a single model could be released this year. It is not known whether this will be a 16-, 12- or 8-core model.
Ryzen 5 7600X3D
Based on the X account "AnhPhuH", news is also circulating that AMD could present a Ryzen 5 7600X3D at the beginning of September. This would be the affordable desktop processor with a gaming focus for the AM5 platform – presumably with six CPU cores (Zen 4). In view of the previous Ryzen 7 7800X3D (starting from 356,99 €), the price could be less than 300 euros.
However, it remains to be seen for which markets AMD could be planning a Ryzen 5 7600X3D. The previous Ryzen 5 5600X3D, for example, is only available from the US retailer Microcenter. A global launch of the 7000 version would be welcome.

Ryzen 5 5500X3D
As a global alternative to the US-exclusive Ryzen 5 5600X3D, the Ryzen 5 5500X3D may appear in the future. This model was registered with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) at the beginning of August 2024.
This is no guarantee of an actual product – Graphics card manufacturers, for example, traditionally secure all kinds of names for models that never see the light of day. However, the entry is certainly an indication of an imminent launch.
