All iPhone 16 models should last at least one hour longer
The iPhone 16 model generation should offer more battery life for all models. However, there are differences between the various device types.

The four new iPhone 16 models are said to offer longer battery life than the previous generation. Apple has now quantified the increase more clearly on its website, although the manufacturer's specifications are of course preceded by "up to" and still need to be checked more closely in tests. Apple promises particularly high gains in operating time per battery charge for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
At 22 hours, the iPhone 16 is said to offer two hours more video playback than the iPhone 15. Video streaming should also be possible for two hours longer, namely up to 18 hours. Audio playback remains at the previous 80 hours.
Everyone is better at video playback
According to Apple, the iPhone 16 Pro Max can handle up to 33 hours of video playback on a single charge, which is four hours more than the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Video streaming increases from 25 to up to 29 hours and audio from 95 to up to 105 hours.
The iPhone 16 Plus offers up to 27 hours of video playback (iPhone 15 Plus: 26), 24 hours of video streaming (20) and 100 hours of audio (100). With the iPhone 16 Pro, the values for video playback increase from 23 to up to 27 hours, for video streaming from 20 to 22 hours and for audio from 75 to 85 hours.

Battery increase is the result of several factors
Apple explains the jump in battery life on the one hand with the higher energy efficiency of the built-in processors. This has increased significantly in the A18 and A18 Pro. The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus also have larger batteries. Overall, Apple has also made improvements to battery management on the software side. This has already benefited earlier models.
In addition to the battery, Apple has also worked on the charging capabilities of the new iPhones. The iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max can now be charged wirelessly with up to 25 watts. However, this requires a USB-C power supply with at least 30 watts of charging power. New MagSafe chargers must also be purchased. Other manufacturers are far ahead of Apple in this discipline, with values of 100 watts and more.
