The Docker offerings Docker Personal, Docker Pro, Docker Team and Docker Business will not only offer a wider range of functions from November 15, 2024, but will also provide easier access to all of the company's services, as Docker has now announced in a blog post. The declared aim is to offer developers more comprehensive and flexible support along the software supply chain. However, the changes are accompanied by rising subscription prices.
More flexibility and more functions
With the revised offers, Docker aims to create more clarity regarding the consumption limits of individual services on the one hand, and on the other hand to give customers in all tariffs easier access to the various services they need individually – This applies to Docker Desktop, Docker Hub, Docker Build Cloud, Docker Scout and Testcontainers Cloud. The Team and Business plans will in future offer unlimited vulnerability analysis in Docker Scout. In addition, Docker Build Cloud minutes and repos analyzed by Docker Scout will be included in all tariffs.

In the future, the company intends to make the limit for image pulls and storage space on Docker Hub consumption-based. However, this would only affect large customers, while most Docker Team and Docker Business customers with service accounts would benefit from higher limits for image pulls, as the fees previously charged for this would no longer apply.
Significant price increases in some cases
In the course of the adjustments from November 15, the prices of individual tariff offers will increase, in some cases significantly. While Docker Personal will remain free of charge and the prices for Docker Business will remain unchanged, users of Docker Pro and Docker Team will have to prepare for higher fees. The price for a Docker Pro subscription will rise from 5 to 9 US dollars per month. For the Docker Team plan, the company is increasing the price per user and month from 9 to 15 US dollars. Docker provides a comprehensive overview of the details of the new pricing structure and the services included in the individual tariff levels.
The blog post by Giri Sreenivas, Chief Product Officer at Docker, provides a rough overview of the expected changes. The announcement also contains a FAQ list, which provides answers to some important questions – such as the specific new features in the individual tariffs.
