In a press release, DeepL explains: "With the integration of glossaries in DeepL, companies ensure that the language AI and the company's employees can quickly and easily use the right phrases and wordings for specific translations – always in line with the company's own individual specifications."

To create a glossary, it is now sufficient to upload existing translations that have already been checked and approved (TMX, DOCX, PDF). The glossary is then generated automatically – but only for paying subscribers. Of course, glossaries can also be created and edited individually. The glossaries can be used via the browser version, extensions and the apps for Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, for example. Glossaries not only offer translations of words, but also automatic adaptation of the entire sentence. This should minimize the amount of post-editing required. DeepL says that in tests, its own translations required around 20 percent less post-editing than translations with GPT-4 and 30 percent less than with Google Translate.

Glossaries should also help to improve the consistency and accuracy of translations. In addition to automatic generation, further language combinations will be available in future: Korean, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Romanian are new. The glossaries will then be available in a total of 16 languages.
