Vision Pro 2: analyst expects it in the second half of 2025

Apple will launch a new Vision Pro in the second half of 2025, according to a new analyst estimate from Asia. The focus will be on the integration of Apple's own AI, Apple Intelligence. According to the report, Apple will install the M5 processor, which Apple still has to release by then (the M4 is currently available in the iPad Pro). The Vision Pro is currently based on the M2.

However, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's findings from the supply chain should be taken with a pinch of salt. The current assessment contradicts Kuo's analysis from April, when he predicted that Apple was no longer planning a Vision Pro model for 2025 and would instead focus on a more affordable "Vision" in order to make the spatial computer accessible to a larger target group.

Low-cost model later after all?

This is no longer mentioned in the new assessment from September 2024. Kuo does not currently expect any major price reductions for the second Vision Pro, although the use of many components already in use probably leaves room for maneuver. In his opinion, however, Apple is more likely to use AI to justify the higher price of the Pro model. This should improve the user experience. He even speculates that a video AI will be used that can quickly create visual content based on descriptions, similar to Sora from OpenAI.

Just the day before, there was a report in the South Korean trade magazine "The Elec", which also reported that Apple is planning displays with half the pixel density for a Vision Pro successor. This should help to significantly reduce the purchase price of around 4000 euros. However, as Apple has currently only received displays from the manufacturer JDI for testing, this is not necessarily intended for the upcoming Vision Pro. Use in a cheaper Vision variant is also conceivable.
