Data for Germany: Schwarz Digits and Deutsche Bahn establish AI platform

Deutsche Bahn and Schwarz Digits, the digital division of the Schwarz Group, have announced the establishment of a joint AI platform called Datahub Europe. According to the information provided, it will bring together, process and curate data from industry and the media. Industry partners could then use the data material to train AI models, for which the training infrastructure is also provided.

The offering is aimed at companies, authorities and scientific institutions that use AI and want to ensure compliance with regulations such as copyright, GDPR and the EU's AI Act. The partners see their platform as a "contribution to strengthening digital sovereignty in Germany and Europe".

AuditGPT helps with the audit

In addition to industrial companies, media such as Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and newspapers and magazines in the DvH Group such as Handelsblatt and Tagesspiegel are also to tax data. This will ensure that the data is used securely and for the intended purpose. The AI startup Aleph Alpha, which recently signed a multi-million euro framework agreement with the German Federal Employment Agency, the Schwarz Group's cloud subsidiary Stackit, the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), the Technical University of Darmstadt and the hessian.AI research association are also on board to train the AI models.

The Datahub founders have already presented an initial result of the collaboration at the German government's digital summit in the form of the AI tool AuditGPT. The tool is designed to help companies carry out their audits more efficiently, systematically and quickly. Among other things, it could create uniform standards for audit reports across different departments and free up employees for other tasks. According to the press release, AuditGPT is being tested at the Schwarz Group and Deutsche Bahn.
