Report: Dates set for iOS 18.1 and new Macs and iPads
iOS 18.1, several new Apple computers and probably also tablets: the end of October and beginning of November is supposedly the time.

According to a report, Apple has agreed on its schedule for the fall. As the financial news agency Bloomberg writes, both the release date for iOS 18.1 with Apple Intelligence and the date for the next keynote with fresh hardware have been set. The first of the two is reportedly already this month.
First Apple Intelligence, then new devices
According to information based on informed sources, iOS 18.1 will be available on October 28. It can be assumed that Apple will also release iPadOS 18.1 and macOS 15.1 at the same time. The main innovation is the partial release of the Group's AI system, but there will also be a whole range of other new features. These include better configuration options for the new Control Center (including resetting changes) and the ability to record phone calls.
However, Apple Intelligence will not be officially available in the European Union, as Apple fears excessive regulation. A US App Store account is required to use it, although Apple now seems to have abandoned a hard geo-restriction. The AI features are not yet complete, for example the image generators Genmoji and Image Playground plus ChatGPT support are missing. In addition, it will only be possible to use the US English language version; German and other languages will not be available until 2025.
Fresh Apple hardware on November 1
New Apple devices will also be available on November 1, writes Bloomberg. At the very least, new MacBook Pro models with M4, M4 Pro and M4 Max SoC in 14 and 16-inch versions (including the low-end version), new iMacs with M4 and a redesigned Mac mini with M4 and M4 Pro are planned. A new iPad mini (same form factor, new SoC) and possibly a new standard iPad (then iPad 11) are also rumored. There have also been rumors of an iPad Air with a new SoC, although this could not be released until spring.
Apple had already brought forward its M4 SoC this year with the new iPad Pro models before it landed in the Mac –, so the release on November 1 is correspondingly important. According to Bloomberg, at least "some" of them will be unveiled on that date. What is strange, however, is that it is a Friday – an atypical keynote date for Apple. Meanwhile, a video from Russia has surfaced on YouTube that allegedly shows the unboxing of a 14-inch MacBook Pro M4 – including Geekbench scores. Such an early leak would be very unusual. An alleged box of such a device had previously surfaced – including a note that the MacBook Pro entry-level models should now have at least 16 GB. However, the packaging shows the Apple background image from last year.
