Vision Pro: own Vimeo app and soon pilot training application
While YouTube still does not offer an app for the Vision Pro, a dedicated Vimeo client is now available. A new flight training app is also coming from Canada.

Fresh app material for the Vision Pro: the popular video service Vimeo, which is primarily used by creative professionals, now has its own visionOS client for the first time. The app has been available to download since this week and allows direct access to the range of films. The app is also specifically designed for spatial videos and 360-degree recordings, which can only be viewed on the Vision Pro. Vimeo sees itself as one of the first applications specifically for the new formats.
Recording and uploading
Vimeo now also accepts spatial video content from Vision Pro, iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max and all iPhone 16 models. They can be uploaded via the iOS and visionOS apps as well as Vimeo.com. Apple will also soon make it possible to edit spatial videos directly in Final Cut Pro.
Meanwhile, Google's YouTube continues to manage without its own app on the Vision Pro. Although Google had already announced in February that it was working on a corresponding product, nothing has happened so far. Instead, the alternative client Juno has just been pushed out of the visionOS App Store because it allegedly violated YouTube guidelines.
Flight simulator in (almost) real life
Meanwhile, a Canadian aviation company is interested in Vision Pro as a pilot training tool. The training specialist Canadian Aviation Electronics (CAE) wants to offer a new simulation for Bombardier private jets in future, which pilots can use to familiarize themselves with the operation of all cockpit elements in advance. Further aircraft are to be supported in the future. The app is planned for spring 2025.

"This app will allow pilots to familiarize themselves with the cockpit, practice critical procedures and develop muscle memory for key functions from anywhere," the company writes. Another Vision Pro innovation comes from Cisco. In the future, the Room Bar Pro video conferencing solution will produce spatial video so that employees can join meetings remotely in three-dimensional space. According to Cisco, the device has already sold 28,000 units and is now getting an update. "That's thousands of customers who just need to update their software and purchase a Vision Pro, and their conference rooms are ready for spatial video – in 4K resolution and true color," says Cisco.
