iOS 18.4, macOS 15.4 and co.: Apple plugs many gaps
With the updates released on Monday, Apple is once again fixing many bugs. Older operating systems also receive updates.

With yesterday's updates to iOS 18.4, macOS 15.4 and Co., Apple has once again plugged numerous security holes. This can be seen from the documents now published by Apple. iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4 alone contain over 60 fixes.
macOS had twice as many gaps
As usual, Apple does not specifically list all the problems, only giving “credits” to the respective discoverers. There do not appear to be any exploits known to Apple this time, at least the company is not commenting on them. Nevertheless, some gaps are serious. For example, it was possible to partially read keychain data from an iOS backup, photos were hidden but still visible, password autofill worked even without full authentication and manipulated audio files could execute unwanted code.

The vulnerabilities fixed in macOS 15.4 are even more extensive – There are over 120 of them. Here, too, there do not appear to be any reports of exploits. Virtually everything is affected, from A for AirDrop (metadata could be read) to I for Installer (sandbox breakout) to X for Xsan (kernel memory corruptible). There are kernel vulnerabilities and also various errors in WebKit. Apple provides Safari 18.4 as a single download for macOS Ventura and macOS Sonoma (macOS 13 and 14). A total of 18 vulnerabilities have been fixed here alone, but there are probably many more, which Apple does not specify.
Updates for old versions
Apple is also bringing macOS 13.7.5 and macOS 14.7.5 to computers in parallel with macOS 15.4. They contain fixes from macOS 15.4, but as usual, not all of them. Security updates are also iOS and iPadOS 15.8.4 and iPadOS 16.7.11 and iOS 16.7.11. Here, too, only the most important problems are fixed.
Apple also provides information on security-related bug fixes for tvOS 18.4 and visionOS 2.4. Here, too, there are some serious gaps, so you should update as quickly as possible. There is also a security update for Xcode, the version number is now 16.3. Apple has not yet updated watchOS, the latest version remains 11.3.1 from February.
