iPhone SE 4: Apple's launch schedule could look like this
According to various reports, Apple will be renewing its cheapest iPhone next spring. Here are the details known so far.

It won't be long until the launch of new iPhones: Apple is holding its "It's Glowtime" event with new 16-series models the Monday after next. What is not expected, however, is a new (and fourth) generation of the iPhone SE. Apple usually presents its entry-level phone, which has been available for several years, in the spring. This information is already available about the device.
Major redesign, but the look remains the same
So far, the iPhone SE, whose third generation from 2022 is the latest, is ultimately still based on the iPhone 7 from 2016. It is the only Apple smartphone that still has a home button with a fingerprint sensor (Touch ID) and no facial recognition (Face ID). Apple is combining the old technology with a – for 2022 – modern interior including 5G support.
This will also be similar for the iPhone SE 4, as the rumor mill claims. This time, however, the new entry-level model will be based on the standard iPhone 14 model. This was released in 2022 and, as an external sign, still comes with Apple's familiar notch – and not with the "Dynamic Island", which is available in all variants of the iPhone 15. Apple is likely to price it at around 530 euros.
Hardware details for the coming years
The display of the iPhone SE 4 could be 6.1 inches in size, and Apple is likely to use the A18 SoC, which is planned for the iPhone 16 and will be compatible with Apple Intelligence. As mentioned, Face ID would be standard, and the SE 4 would also have a USB-C port for the first time. The RAM would – also be upgraded to 8 GB for Apple Intelligence – and the device would have an Apple 5G modem, which the company has been working on for years, as a wireless chip for the first time. The camera on the back is now said to be a 48-megapixel model, but only in the form of a single sensor. With any luck, Apple will also give the iPhone SE 4 an action button, as was first introduced on the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max and will presumably also be included in all iPhone 16 models.
All functions and features are designed to ensure that the iPhone SE 4 can remain in the range for at least several years. Currently, the update of the SE is expected to last around three years. It is currently expected to be available in March or April. Together with the iPhone 16, most iPhone models that Apple has in its range would then be capable of Apple Intelligence.
