Apple wants to boost sales of its Vision Pro mixed reality headset with additional sales markets. As the company's global head of marketing, Greg Joswiak, announced on X on Thursday, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will also be supplied with devices in future. The Vision Pro is now available in twelve regions around the world. "We are delighted that customers in a dozen countries and regions will be able to immerse themselves in the world of spatial computing," said Joswiak. However, Apple's quarterly figures, which were also announced on Thursday, again did not include any information on sales of the glasses, which are available in Europe from 3999 euros.

According to Apple's announcement, both sales launches are scheduled for November 15, i.e. a Friday in 14 days. Pre-orders will be possible from November 4. The prices vary, but are significantly lower than in Europe. In South Korea, you pay from 4,990,000 won for the entry-level model with 256 GB of memory. This corresponds to around 3335 euros at the current exchange rate. In the UAE, the price is AED 13999, which is 3510 euros. In the USA, the price is known to be 3499 euros plus VAT (if applicable in the respective state).

Apple has not yet provided information on the costs of the medium (512 GByte) and most expensive (1 TByte) models in South Korea and the UAE –. They are also likely to be lower than in the EU. However, even these lower prices are significantly higher than those charged by competitors such as Meta, even if their devices have poorer image quality. These include the Quest 3 from the Facebook parent company and the new low-cost model Quest 3S (starting from 249,95 €) –, the latter of which costs less than a tenth of the Vision Pro.

Apple is currently keeping a low profile when it comes to Vision Pro sales. During yesterday's discussion with analysts on the quarterly figures, CEO Tim Cook only stated that "continued sales momentum" was being seen, particularly in the enterprise business. The Apple CEO had also previously emphasized in an interview that the device is not currently a mass market product. Apple has also reportedly scaled back production because its warehouses are sufficiently full.

The company is currently working on a successor model to the Vision Pro. The main aim is to reduce the price, but this could have an impact on the specifications. In addition to this "Vision", work is also underway on a "Vision Pro 2" with faster chips. Apple is currently still using the M2, which had already been replaced by the M3 by the time it went on sale.
