Amazon wants to film the "Mass Effect" series as a series. This is reported by the industry magazine Variety. According to the report, the "Mass Effect" series for Prime Video is in the works at Amazon's MGM Studios and will be broadcast on the Prime Video streaming service.
According to Variety, Daniel Casey, who recently wrote the screenplay for the 'Fast and Furious' film 'F9: The Fast Saga', is producing the 'Mass Effect' series. Publisher EA, whose studio Bioware developed the 'Mass Effect' game series, is also said to be involved in the production.
There are no details about the story so far. It is unclear whether Amazon will focus on the story from the main trilogy, build on the narrative thread of "Andromeda" or open up a completely new thread. There is also currently no release date.
'Mass Effect' follows on from 'Fallout'
The sci-fi game series "Mass Effect" is set in a universe in which humanity, together with various aliens, must discover and combat a fundamental threat to intelligent life. The original trilogy about Commander Shepard is widely regarded as one of the best role-playing series of all time and shows the cult development studio Bioware in top form.
After the "Mass Effect" trilogy, Bioware followed up a few years later with "Mass Effect Andromeda", which tells the story of an expedition to another galaxy. "Andromeda" was largely torn apart by fans and critics and fell significantly in quality compared to the main series. Bioware is currently working on a new "Mass Effect" part, about which hardly anything is known yet.
