More downloads: Developers can request "feature" in the App Store
If you want to bring your application to many customers, you can book paid advertising. But there are also other ways to appear in the App Store.
Feature in the App Store: More customers thanks to Apple's mention.

Apple's App Store with its countless applications for iPhone, iPad, Mac & Co. makes it very difficult for individual developers to break through with their offerings. Developers are therefore increasingly using Apple's paid advertising offers, which are now likely to generate high revenues for the company. However, there is another way to gain attention in the App Store: a "feature" by the responsible editorial team at Apple.
Self-nomination via App Store Connect
An app is mentioned editorially and highlighted on the home page along with screenshots and possibly even videos. The problem: Until now, there was no transparent way to obtain such a "feature". Apple often took action itself and approached developers, sometimes there were other business relationships, for example after or before an appearance at an Apple keynote. In future, this is all set to get a little better: The corporation has announced a new process that allows developers to actively apply.

The function can be accessed via the App Store Connect platform and is called "Featuring Nominations", as Apple writes in a blog entry on its developer portal. "Submit a nomination to let our team know about [an app] launch, in-app content, or new feature. As soon as you are mentioned in the Today section [in the App Store], you will receive a notification via the App Store Connect app."
Create marketing assets from App Store Connect
Apple also offers new marketing assets that can be created from existing images or important moments in games via App Store Connect. This in turn should make it easier for the App Store team to create a "feature". The material can also be distributed via social media, according to Apple.
The company has compiled further details on "features" and the way Apple presents applications on its own website. In particular, it emphasizes its "stories", which are used to present apps. There is also an "Editors' Choice" selection, which is intended to highlight particularly good apps and games. Of course, it is not possible to guarantee a "feature" after a self-nomination – this is still only possible with paid advertising.
