Of forest paths and crackling leaves: the pictures of the week week 46
The forest is beautiful at any time of year. Whether golden leaves or soft foliage - this habitat on earth has a lot to offer for the lens.

In keeping with the approaching end of this year's fall, our gallery photographers present some special forest shots. Whether summer, fall or winter: the forest is wonderfully staged at different times of the year in the following photos.
Bright fall
(Image:Â Uschi Hermann)
The glowing fall is reflected in the golden yellow larches in the barren and dark mountains. The fog that meanders through the trees makes the scenery look particularly mysterious. The picture also shows that a forest has far more to offer than impenetrable thickets or boring monocultures. An atmospheric fall picture by Uschi Hermann.

In the forest
(Image:Â David Alberts)
At the end of August, on a hike near Merano in South Tyrol, David Alberts discovered this clearing in the forest. The interesting contrast of light and shadow created an atmospheric picture without a classic motif, which the photographer felt emotionally drawn to. The image is almost reminiscent of the film noir style due to the strong black and white contrast. This image processing creates an even separation between the foreground and background.
Autumn at Feldsee in the Black Forest
(Image:Â Kerkar)
Kerkar succeeds in taking this picture of autumn at Feldsee in the Black Forest early in the morning, while the fog is slowly disappearing. The reflection of the forest in the water is almost picturesque, and the broad color palette creates an atmospheric overall picture. The trees seem to melt into the treetops, giving the impression of a painting.
In the field, Harz National Park
(Image:Â MimHarz)
"The day really was so dreary and overcast," recalls MimHarz (alias Michael MĂĽller), thinking back to the winter picture. The landscape is Auf dem Acker, Harz National Park. The "Acker" is a mountain range in the western Harz Mountains, 800 meters above sea level. The spruce trees and the heavy fog form a composition that sets the scene for their icy solitude.
Enchanted forest
(Image:Â dermaeus)
The foliage glows emerald green, while the leaf-covered forest floor hints at early fall. Gallery photographer Dermaeus walked along this path leading into the enchanted forest . The saturated color and the symmetrical composition of the picture make this place seem like a fairy tale. But the lush green soon has to give way to the warm colors of autumn.
Spiess Ruten Lauf with frame story
(Image:Â Bernd Unger)
The trees give the impression that this is a Spiess Ruten Lauf with a frame - Bernd Unger captures a framed painting of the forest, which seems to glow. The soft mist and the yellow colors give the picture an autumnal and mystical character.
Take a deep breath
(Image:Â Antonio Giovanni Galle)
A moment to pause and simply exist."Take a deep breath", Antonio Giovanni Galle thinks to himself as he stumbles across this forest scene. The sun's rays flicker through the branches and the reflection of light breaks through the wood. The crisp weather and the tranquillity of the forest have been captured perfectly in this moment.
