Highlights and impressions from CES 2025
Las Vegas is being dismantled to make way for the next show. The editorial team's verdict: there were a few highlights – and some strange things too.

The CES 2025 is over. While the organizers draw a positive balance, we look back on highlights, crazy gadgets and mad spectacle. Although business takes center stage at the trade fair, the "S" in CES is always taken very seriously in Las Vegas – and that stands for "show".
Nvidia and Delta Air Lines –, two brands that illustrate the enormous range of CES, put on a special show at the start of this year's trade fair. The term "keynote" does not adequately describe what Nvidia and, above all, Delta brought to the stage in front of thousands of spectators.

)CES veterans were reminded of old times, such as when Bill Gates announced the Xbox in 2001 and gambled against wrestler The Rock. The almost Dadaist show that Qualcomm put on at CES 2013 is also unforgettable – and earned the company headlines such as "crazy", "hideous" and "embarrassing".
Show business in Las Vegas
The same cannot be said of Nvidia's presentation, although it is said by visitors that it was perhaps a little boring. After all, 6300 spectators had to queue, sometimes for a very long time, to see CEO Jensen Huang's previously much-hyped presentation.
Delta also had a full house: over 8000 people wanted to see CEO Ed Bastian's appearance in the Las Vegas Sphere to mark the airline's 100th anniversary. Delta made full use of the opportunities offered by this unique venue – including a short appearance by rock star Lenny Kravitz.

But the CES is not just a show, it is also a pulse meter and pacemaker for the various industries. From consumer electronics, computer hardware and crazy gadgets to social media, cars and moving aircraft carriers, there was plenty to marvel at in the halls. We have summarized what particularly caught the eye of the heise medien editorial team in the picture gallery.
One of the central themes of the trade fair was once again artificial intelligence (AI), which was present in all exhibition areas. Digital health is now becoming a mainstay of the trade fair, with numerous start-ups also showcasing their innovations. Smart home, energy supply and mobility round off the trade fair portfolio.

Organizers satisfied
The organizers draw a positive conclusion of the trade fair. According to the CTA, over 4500 companies, including 1400 start-ups, showcased their products and innovations. With around 141,000 visitors from over 150 countries (previous year: just under 139,000 visitors), CES continued to grow, albeit not as significantly as before.
"Innovation comes to life at CES," said Gary Shapiro, CEO and Vice Chairman of the organizer Consumer Technology Association (CTA). "From the largest companies to emerging start-ups, the entire tech ecosystem is represented at the show." CES 2026 will take place from January 6 to 9, 2026.
