Hit movie "Wicked" also created with the help of Vision Pro
The fantasy musical "Wicked" has been remade into a movie. Apple's Vision Pro also played a role in the production.

What to do with the Vision Pro? Apple has still not found a real killer application for the headset, which costs at least, 3999 euros. However, there are repeated reports of professionals using the device with its super-sharp micro OLED screens for creative applications – and not just those commissioned and paid for by Apple itself.
Communication and playback on the giant screen
In a promotional video released by the company in January, the director of the hit film “Wicked” is shown explaining how he used the Vision Pro during the filming of the musical fantasy spectacle. Jon M. Chu says that the Vision Pro with its gigantic virtual screen was “extremely useful” for viewing film material during post-production. For “Wicked”, which stars Ariana Grande among others, there were plenty of visual effects supplied by companies from all over the world.

Chu was able to do the screening at home, “because I had a screen that was bigger than the one we had in the screening room”. At the same time, he also used the Vision Pro to communicate with suppliers. “I could talk to people on different continents and watch the playback at the same time.” Chu also appears to have used special tools. He used zoom by finger, “drawing” areas in the material. The Vision Pro “opened up a new dimension to how you see things”.
It is unclear where the Vision Pro stands
According to Apple, Chu was one of the first filmmakers to put “spatial computing” to the “ultimate test”. He worked with the Vision Pro's “unlimited canvas” to edit and produce parts of his film. “Wicked” is an adaptation of “The Wizard of Oz”, which was first published as a musical and has now been turned into a musical fantasy film by Chu. The film itself is to be released in 3D for the Vision Pro in the future.
It is currently unclear how well Apple's headset is selling. The company does not provide any figures. Apple CEO Tim Cook recently admitted that the Vision Pro is primarily for early adopters and not a mass market product due to its price. Production of the current generation has reportedly already been discontinued, while Apple is working on a second version. In addition to the high price, the form factor is also criticized: The headset requires an external battery that has to be laboriously attached to the device with a bayonet connection, it is comparatively heavy and users get “vision face”, i.e., imprints on their face after use. However, the operation via finger and eye tracking and the quality of the screens are repeatedly praised.
