Screen recording on the iPhone: Various innovations planned
Filming current iOS image content is easy, but a number of features are missing. According to a report, these will be added soon.
Screen recording on the iPhone: This can be done quickly via the Control Center.

Apple is planning a series of useful new functions for screen recording in iOS. This allows you to record what is currently happening on the iPhone screen, for example for training purposes, to help friends use it or for operating demonstrations on YouTube.
How screen recording currently works
Screen recording is already very easy to use. To start it, go to the iOS control center(usually accessible by swiping from the top right corner). There is a button there that starts screen recording. Once you leave the control center (or wait for the countdown to expire), the recording starts.

You can stop recording by pressing the screen recording button at the top of the screen. You can also send the screen recording to certain apps (such as Teams) and switch the microphone on or off to record your own voice by pressing and holding the screen recording button in the Control Center. The recording ends up in the photo library.
Better screen recording with HDR, stereo and selfie camera
As 9to5Mac reports, a range of new functions for screen recording will be added in the future – in a "future update". It will then not only be possible to record your voice in mono, but also the entire surroundings in stereo – by using two iPhone microphones. In addition to SDR images, it will also be possible to make HDR recordings of the screen in future.
Finally, there will also be a so-called live camera overlay, with which you can film yourself via the selfie camera while operating the iPhone. This is apparently planned via the picture-in-picture UI, as we know it from SharePlay screen sharing. It will be possible to switch on the camera in the Control Center. It is unclear when exactly Apple will add the new features. However, these features are not yet available in iOS 18.3, which is available as a release candidate and should be released next week, according to the package insert known to date. The functions are also expected for the iPad, which supports screen recording in the same way as iOS. Here too, there is still no release date.
