Updates: Apple also updates older operating systems – with exceptions
In addition to iOS 18.3 and macOS 15.3, Apple has also published macOS 13.7.3, 14.7.3 and iPadOS 17.7.4. iOS 17 is no longer being considered.

In addition to iOS 18.3, macOS 15.3 and the like, Apple also updated its older operating systems on Monday evening. As usual, these only receive security-related fixes, whereby, as is unfortunately common practice, only the latest systems really receive all bug fixes. In addition, a fresh iOS 17 – is missing this time, but it is not yet clear why.
Update old systems quickly too
Version 13.7.3 is now available for download for macOS 13 alias Ventura. Apple has fixed a total of 32 vulnerabilities. macOS Sonoma is getting update 14.7.3. 40 different bugs with security relevance have been addressed, including an attack option via AirPlay. Apple has also released a new Safari browser version 18.3 for macOS Ventura and macOS Sonoma. It fixes several WebKit bugs and other errors, including in password support. In macOS Sequoia 15.3, Safari is part of the update; in macOS 14 and 13, it must be installed separately, which does not require a restart.
There are no feature updates in macOS 13.7.3, macOS 14.7.3 or Safari 18.3, although some non-security-critical bugs have been fixed in Safari. All updates should be installed as soon as possible to avoid falling victim to potential exploits. It is commendable that Apple has detailed almost all closed gaps this time, although two in the new macOS 13 and macOS 14 versions, which are in sips and Static Linker, have not yet been described in detail.

iOS 17 is missing again, iPadOS 17 will be updated
For older iPads that can no longer run iPadOS 18, Apple is delivering iPadOS 17.7.4. It contains a total of 16 fixes, including for the aforementioned AirPlay vulnerability, which could be used to execute code from the outside. Here too, users should react quickly and install the update.
iOS 17 is once again missing from the fix list. Apple completely discontinued support for iOS 17 in December, including security fixes, as all devices that support iOS 17 can also use iOS 18. iOS 17.7.2 from November is therefore the last iOS 17 release. It contains various unpatched gaps, as iOS 17.7.3 and now iOS 17.7.4 have no longer been released. Users should update to iOS 18.
