iPhone SE 4: Apple postponing to next week?
Rumors have been circulating that Apple's new entry-level smartphone would be released in week 7. But that is unlikely to happen. Now a new date is circulating.

The iPhone SE 4 should actually already have been unveiled – at least according to reports from Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman. In a report last week, he stated that he had heard that the time had come in the week beginning February 10. But nothing happened. Tuesday, a typical Apple announcement day, passed without a presentation – and nothing is likely to come on the weekend either. Gurman now also sees it that way: He has now postponed the date he himself brought into play until next week.
Postponed again?
On Wednesday, he wrote on X that the new iPhone SE is still “imminent”, only that it should now be presented “by next week”. Apple had already invited journalists to product briefings. There is reportedly no event for the SE 4, the presentation is to take place via the Apple website including a press release – whether with or without a longer video is still unclear. The SE 4 is certainly significant for Apple: with the new entry-level model, which will hopefully cost less than 600 euros, the iPhone manufacturer is using its technology for the first time in various areas, as the rumor mill claims.

This includes the very first Apple 5G wireless modem, which the company has been researching for years – including in Munich – as well as its Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chips. Otherwise, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to look like the standard iPhone 14, but only have a camera on the back. Thanks to the full-surface display and Face ID facial recognition, the home button would finally be a thing of the past in the entire iPhone line-up.
The iPhone SE 3 no longer on the market
Other new features in the iPhone SE 4 include the A18 chip from the iPhone 16 to enable the use of Apple Intelligence, as well as a USB-C port. Its absence in the iPhone 14 and SE 3 had already led to both models being taken off the market recently.
Malicious tongues claim that Apple could have postponed the date for the SE 4 considering the leaked announcement rumors – but the company is unlikely to let this affect its long-term planning. Whatever happens: The new entry-level iPhone remains exciting.
