With MagSafe: Active heat sink for iPhone gamers
An iPhone can also get warm when playing demanding games. Does a heat sink help here? The accessory specialist Aukey claims so.

Anyone who likes to play a lot of games on their iPhone will know that the device can get quite warm when playing power-hungry AAA games. It is then advisable to at least remove the device from an existing case. However, if you want to be on the safe side and always get the full iPhone performance without throttling, you can now buy MagSafe hardware from Aukey, which comes with its fan.
Attach to the iPhone
The MagFusion GameFrost aka LC-G10 even combines this with a wireless charging function via Qi2, which provides 15 watts, i.e., fast charging. The integrated fan is said to be “super quiet” and has temperature monitoring, meaning it can adapt to the heat generated by the iPhone. All MagSafe devices from Apple and Qi devices from other manufacturers are supported – although these do not necessarily have the necessary magnets as long as they do not support Qi2.

The 94 gram fan and charger should be able to cool the device down by up to 20 degrees Celsius – at least that's what the manufacturer claims. Its use is not only potentially interesting for gaming, but also for Qi2/MagSafe charging itself. The iPhone also gets quite warm due to the induction used, which is not good for the built-in battery in the long term – and the charging performance can also decrease if it gets too hot.
USB-C and temperature display
Aukey does not have official “Made for iPhone” approval from Apple for the MagFusion GameFrost, but emphasizes the basic MagSafe compatibility. The fan can also be used when the iPhone is in a MagSafe case, but it is then less effective. The device has a USB-C port. Aukey did not provide any information on whether it can also increase the maximum frame rate of iOS games.
The MagFusion GameFrost is sold in the USA for 43 US dollars. It is also likely to be sold via Amazon Germany in the near future, where a price of 45 euros is expected. The fan also has a temperature display on the back that can be switched between Celsius and Fahrenheit. Chargers with fans are already available from other manufacturers, but these are mostly designed for use in cars, where smartphones often get quite warm.
