Adobe is bringing its Photoshop image editing software to mobile devices. A version for the iPhone is now available. An Android version is set to follow in the course of 2025. Along with the apps, Adobe is also offering Photoshop on the web.

The iPhone Photoshop imports photos from Lightroom or directly from the device memory. It also works with the Adobe Express app for social media design and the Fresco painting app.

The free version supports basic Photoshop functions such as layers and masks. In addition to the area repair tool (“Spot Healing Brush”), the Firefly functions “Generative Fill” for retouching marked image areas and “Generative Expand” for filling the workspace beyond the existing image material are also on board. According to Adobe, users can also integrate 1.5 million free images from Adobe Stock into their documents.

Some tools are only available to paying customers. Only subscription customers can switch from mobile Photoshop to the web version. Adobe is also testing live collaboration on documents in a closed beta phase.

Subscription customers can also use calculation modes and tools for lightening and darkening.

Adobe also mentions “advanced Firefly tools”. This probably refers to the tools known from Photoshop for adding generated elements, for which you enter a prompt. The subscription includes 100 image creations per month.

The basic version can be used free of charge. So-called premium functions are only available with a subscription. It also entitles you to access the web version. Adobe quotes a monthly price of 7.99 US dollars; euro prices are usually slightly higher.
