Monitor dashboards offer precise insights into the system
Admins who use GitHub Enterprise Server (GHES) will have access to revised monitor dashboards in the release candidate. They can view historical data such as CPU and memory usage or the general health of their system.
To do this, they click on the rocket icon in the top right-hand corner of any page from their admin account. The Management Console is then available in the Site admin sidebar, which can be used to select Monitor in the top navigation bar.

The monitor dashboards display metrics that can be useful for understanding performance problems, for example. By default, the “Operational Health” dashboard is displayed with key metrics, but you can also switch to the detailed “System & Application Insights” dashboard. A custom dashboard can also be created if required.
Custom settings right from the start
Owners of an organization can now specify that their users can already find user-defined properties when creating a repository. This should ensure that corresponding rules are anchored in repos right from the start. Previously, this option was only available to admins or people with permission to change user-defined repo properties.
The new option can be set for a custom property using Allow repository actors to set this property.
GitHub Enterprise Server is a self-hosted version of the GitHub version control platform that can be used either on-premises or in the cloud. The release candidate allows GHES users to try out new features, but is not suitable for productive use. It is available for download on GitHub.
All further details on the release candidate for version 3.16 can be found on the GitHub blog and in the release notes.
