New Macs supposedly as early as this week – iPads still need some time
According to a Bloomberg report, Apple could unveil the MacBook Air M4 in the next few days. This will soon be followed by new tablets.

Apple could unveil a new generation of the MacBook Air in the coming days. The devices could be unveiled "as early as this week", writes the financial news agency Bloomberg. Stocks of the current variants at Apple and its resellers are said to be low, and an announcement could be made "in the next few days". New iPad models, on the other hand, are also expected to take a little longer, even if the previous models are also more difficult to obtain than usual.
MacBook Air with M4
The MacBook Air is currently available with a 13 and 15-inch screen and M3 SoC. It was launched in March 2024. The hardware is unlikely to change much: Apple is planning to install the M4 from the MacBook Pro, Mac mini and iMac. The form factor is likely to remain the same, but it is conceivable that Apple will give the housing new colors.
The M4 should result in a slight increase in speed, which could be around 25 percent in multi-core mode, although this rarely occurs in everyday use. The minimum RAM configuration should now be 16 GB. The M4 has 10 CPU and 10 GPU cores. A slight improvement in battery life is also expected. Apple currently charges at least 1300 euros for the MacBook Air, with the 15-inch version costing 300 euros more.

iPad with two new models
According to Bloomberg, new iPad models will be released "soon" – It is unclear whether this will be next week or later. These are likely to be the iPad Air M3 and the iPad 11. The iPad Air is likely to run a little faster than the previous model with M2, the iPad 11 also – the latter could jump to the A17 Pro to provide Apple Intelligence. Meanwhile, there has been speculation about a switch to the M4 for the iPad Air, but the model would then probably be too close to the iPad Pro M4.
Other new systems expected in the coming months are the Mac Pro M4 and Mac Studio M4 – Both model series have so far remained on the M2, even though they are professional machines. A direct jump to the M5 is also conceivable, at least that would certainly appeal to many buyers. However, it is still unclear exactly when the new Apple Silicon SoC will be released. Last year, the M4 made its debut in the iPad Pro – in an unusual move for Apple.
