Apple Intelligence: Siri advertising changes, update reactivates AI again
After Apple brings important AI functions for Siri later, online references to them are deleted. iOS 18.3.2 meanwhile turns Apple Intelligence back on.

Apple's AI system is struggling with delays. At the same time, Apple is trying to keep users of the existing functions happy. This is shown by two recent developments from this week.
Self-censorship in the Siri context
After having to confirm at the end of last week that important announced Siri AI features will be postponed until next year, the iPhone manufacturer has tidied up its online presence. After initially deleting a promotional video from YouTube that showed one of the upcoming features, the language on Apple.com has also changed. While the description page for iOS 18 previously stated that Siri would not only understand speech better, but would also know “the user's personal context”, the last point is now missing entirely. Instead, Apple only points out that Siri can directly spit out support articles (“expansive product knowledge about your devices”), a feature that has existed for some time.

Incidentally, Apple has not yet touched the German language version. It goes on to talk about the “beginning of a new era for Siri”, which has a better understanding “of your personal context”, making Siri “more helpful than ever before”. Apple had previously admitted that more work would have to be invested in the Siri context “than we thought”. The company did not give a specific date, but it will probably not be before iOS 19. If Apple makes full use of the specified year, it will be ready in spring 2026. Among other things, the Siri context should help to ask direct questions about past activities, such as when you met a certain person if the date is in the calendar.
Apple Intelligence turned on again
Meanwhile, users who have installed iOS 18.3.2, which was released on Wednesday night, are reporting that Apple Intelligence has been reactivated by the update. Apple had also done this in the previous version, although confusingly, it does not happen for all users.
The reactivation of Apple Intelligence after an explicit deactivation is not only annoying, but also has practical consequences: Apple Intelligence takes up between 4 and 7 GB of storage space on the device, which you might want to use for other things.
