The market leader in Android tablets is following up with two new models. The Galaxy Tab S10 FE and Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ are slightly cheaper than their namesakes, the Tab S10+ and S10 Ultra, but make concessions, especially in terms of the screen.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE has a 10.9-inch screen, while the FE+ has a 13.1-inch screen. This makes the smaller model the de facto replacement for the basic Galaxy Tab S10 model, which Samsung had discontinued, as the Koreans had dropped the smallest model in this product series without replacement.

While the “real” S-class Galaxy tablets have OLED screens, the Galaxy Tab S10 FE and FE+ only have LCD panels. They don't have to be bad; the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus, which is in a similar price range, also has an LCD panel. However, LCD screens have design-related disadvantages compared to OLED displays, particularly in terms of contrast and black levels.

At 500 grams, the Tab S10 FE is noticeably lighter than the large FE+, which weighs just under 170 grams more. In addition to the larger screen and the more expansive casing (protected against dust and water in accordance with IP68), the battery is also responsible for this. It has a capacity of 10,090 mAh in the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ and only 8,000 mAh in the smaller FE. There are two cameras in each case, a 12 MP selfie cam at the front and a 13 MP main camera at the back. In the predecessor, Samsung still had two 8 MP cameras on the back. The Samsung tablets also support microSD memory cards and, depending on the model, 5G mobile communications, either via nanoSIM or eSIM. Neither tablet has a jack socket. The internal memory is 128 or 256 GB, with 8 or 12 GB of RAM.

Samsung delivers the Galaxy Tab S10 FE and FE+ with Android 15 and OneUI 7. The manufacturer intends to provide the tablets with updates for seven years. The FE tablets only support parts of the Galaxy AI, not the full scope that you get on the Galaxy S smartphones. The tablets do not come with a power adapter, but an S Pen without Bluetooth connectivity. Samsung pre-installs some pen-compatible apps.

Samsung's range of accessories includes a dockable keyboard. It has a new button, the Galaxy AI Key. This directly launches the prompt for the AI assistant, which can also be Bixby or Google Gemini if desired.

The prices for the tablets depend on the storage space and connectivity. Doubling the memory costs 100 euros extra, as does the 5G modem. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE costs between 579 and 779 euros, while the Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ costs between 749 and 949 euros.
