No response from Apple: Epic Games resubmits "Fortnite" to the App Store
Since Friday, "Fortnite", which Epic is bringing back to the App Store after winning a legal dispute, has been stuck at Apple. Epic Games is trying again.

Fans of “Fortnite” will have to be patient until they can use the battle royale shooter on the iPhone again: Despite submitting the game to Apple's App Store last Friday, manufacturer Epic Games has yet to hear back. A new attempt is now to be made, announced Tim Sweeney, head of the games company, who is rarely at a loss for words, on X on Wednesday.
“Fortnite” app withdrawn and resubmitted
After Apple refused to budge, Epic Games initially withdrew the game. The reason: they wanted to deliver new content on all platforms tomorrow Friday – and the update had to be simultaneous. “We have therefore withdrawn the previous “Fortnite” version that we submitted to Apple's App Review last Friday and submitted a new version for review.” The question now, however, is whether Apple will be quicker this time.

Normally, it should only take 24 hours for “90 percent of submitted apps” to be reviewed and approved by App Review. However, “Fortnite” is a very special case: Epic Games and Apple have been involved in a legal dispute for five years over whether the game may contain shopping opportunities directly on the web – and therefore without commission for Apple –. After Epic Games submitted a hidden feature to this effect, Apple blocked the app. This was followed by the filing of a prepared lawsuit.
Spotify and Amazon already sell on the web
However, Epic Games has now been successful in one of the many proceedings: a judge forced Apple to stop collecting sales commissions on web payments – which peaked at 27 percent – and at the same time to introduce a link-free policy. Result: Both Spotify and Amazon's Kindle app now come with web payments without Apple seeing a cent. Both apps were also approved without any problems. Only “Fortnite”, the actual cause of the whole dispute, is apparently being ignored by Apple (for now).
This could potentially cause even more trouble for the iPhone company in the legal dispute, even though it has already filed an appeal. Sweeney has so far given no indication of how Epic Games will react if nothing happens. However, the app review process is “unusually long”, according to the manager, who ended the sentence with a skull emoji.
