Partnership: Grok joins Telegram – and xAI pays nine figures
On his social media channels, Telegram boss Pawel Durow announces a partnership that will cost xAI hundreds of millions of dollars.

Grok, the AI chatbot from xAI, will soon be coming to Telegram. Pawel Durow, founder and CEO of the messenger service, published an announcement to this effect on his channel. He had agreed a one-year collaboration with xAI boss Musk.
According to Durow's count, Telegram's more than one billion users will have access to Grok, which will be integrated into all Telegram apps. The whole thing will happen this summer.

Telegram's financial position will be strengthened by the deal: in addition to a one-off cash injection of 300 million US dollars, payable in cash and xAI company shares, Telegram will also receive 50 percent of the revenue from all xAi subscriptions taken out via the messenger service.
Telegram is repeatedly criticized: Western countries accuse it of failing to cooperate in the fight against disinformation and cybercrime, while elsewhere the service is suppressed by authoritarian regimes.
