After the new racing drive for e-mountain bikes, Bosch is now turning its attention to trekking bikes. With the new Performance Line PX, which the Swabians are presenting at Eurobike in Frankfurt these days, they should ride more comfortably than before.

The maximum power of the Performance Line PX is high at 700 watts, 90 Nm and up to 340 percent boost to your muscle power; until recently, even the CX, which was designed for mountain bikes, delivered less. However, the preset maximum torque is slightly lower at 85 Nm, and the power is also initially set to (still strong) 600 watts and 340 percent boost. If you need more, you can adjust this individually in the riding mode settings via the Bosch app. However, the manufacturer points out that higher performance values have a negative impact on range and wear.

Bosch claims to have improved the sensor technology of the Performance Line PX compared to its predecessor. This should increase riding comfort, especially when starting off. Here, the system provides an extra push so that you can quickly get back to pedaling smoothly. Similar to the current MTB drives from Bosch, there is also a hill start assist for the trekking sector. This can be particularly practical with a lot of luggage on the bike. The familiar push assist remains on board.

The sensors also measure the inclination and speed of the e-bike, and the PX system uses this data for the ABS. This regulates the front wheel brake and is intended to provide greater safety, especially in the event of sudden obstacles. The Performance Line PX is available with Bosch eBike ABS with brakes from Magura, TRP and Shimano.

The range depends on many factors, not least the riding weight and the battery configuration of your bike. For cycling trips, it is advisable to set up a riding mode with a lower level of support, which allows you to cover flat sections while saving energy, while only calling up maximum support for particularly steep sections.

The Performance Line PX as a complete system also supports the eShift automatic gear shifting system. Here, you set the desired cadence via the app and the bike then changes gears automatically. Shimano is new on board with eShift support, and the system also works with gears from Enviolo and TRP. & ABS

The first bikes with the Bosch Performance Line PX should be on sale this year.
