Google and the Apple Watch: Calendar is coming, Keep is disappearing
While its now possible to display the Google Calendar directly on the Apple Watch using Apple's design, the Keep to-do list was removed without replacement.

Google gives it, Google takes it: Apple Watch users are currently confronted with exactly that. One popular app has been removed from the computer watch without replacement, another has been added, even if it is still basic.
Keep can no longer be kept
The to-do list and note manager Google Keep will no longer be available for watchOS. And the end comes suddenly: all you need to do is install version 2.2025.26200 of the app on the iPhone that is connected to the Apple Watch. After that, the watchOS app simply disappears without a trace. Google did not even consider it necessary to include a note in the app's release notes: All it says there is that it contains “bug fixes and performance improvements”. However, the deletion of the Apple Watch app is probably neither the former nor the latter.

However, Google had not worked more intensively on the application for a long time – at least regarding new functions. Updates were nevertheless delivered regularly. No details were given as to why the application was removed. Interestingly, the variant of Google Keep for Wear OS will remain for now. Apple users can also switch to a native version of the manufacturer's Notes app with watchOS 26, which will be available for the first time in September.
Calendaring is now possible
Positive news from Google's calendar team: while Keep disappears without a trace, Google Calendar will land on the Apple Watch for the first time. All you need to do is install the iOS version on the iPhone connected to the watch; the client is included in the package from version 25.24.1.
The app is currently still quite modest in terms of functionality. For example, you can currently only see a week of events by default and can display tasks in a list view. The Apple Watch app also does not provide in-depth details for each event, referring users to the iPhone app. Google provides two different complications for the watch face, plus a Smart Stack widget. Annoyingly, it is not yet possible to add tasks or events directly from the watch. All of this is reminiscent of the Wear OS app from Google Calendar.
