“Back to school” with accessories: Apple launches back-to-school campaign
From July to October, Apple gives students additional merchandise on top, depending on the product purchased. However, only Macs and iPads are covered.

Apple has announced how its “Back to School” campaign for students will work this year. As part of the “Off to Uni” campaign, this target group will receive free accessories on top when purchasing certain products. However, as usual, it is important to compare prices in advance, as Apple strictly adheres to the recommended retail price minus the educational discount.
Packages with accessories
As was the case last year, it is not open to school students for the “Off to Uni” offer. Instead, only students, their parents (if they are buying for their child) and employees of educational institutions (private and public) are “qualified buyers”. Points of sale are only Apple's own stores and the Apple Store Education. Only certain Mac and iPad models are included in “Off to Uni”. For Macs, these are MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and iMac; for iPads, these are iPad Air and iPad Pro.

If you buy an iPad, you get either AirPods 4 (without ANC) or Apple Pencil Pro for free. If you want additional accessories, you have to pay a reduced surcharge. For the AirPods 4 with ANC this is 50 euros, for the AirPods Pro 2 130 euros and for various Magic Keyboard variants for the iPad Air and iPad Pro, between 160 and 240 euros. When you buy a MacBook, you get Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, AirPods 4 with ANC or Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and a numeric keypad for free. AirPods Pro 2 cost an additional 80 euros. Buyers of the iMac get AirPods 4 with ANC for free, those who want AirPods Pro 2 pay an extra 80 euros.
Check prices in advance
All deals are always granted with Apple's usual educational discount. The campaign runs between today and October 21. As already mentioned, users should always use a price comparison tool such as the one from heise online to check whether Apple's rates are not being undercut by regular retailers even with the educational discount, especially for more expensive configurations. The same applies to Apple's accessory costs and the savings that can be made as a result.
In recent years, Apple has particularly enjoyed giving away iTunes vouchers as part of its “Back to School” promotions, which gave users greater flexibility. Last year, the focus was on accessories, the selection of which was expanded again this year.
