Leak: The iPhone 17 will be available in these colors
Apple is once again preparing a large number of item numbers for the iPhone. There will be a total of fifteen different colors.

Apple's logistics department will soon have a lot on its plate: the company is apparently planning a total of 15 different colors for the iPhone 17. This is according to an “internal document” that has now been leaked and is available to the American magazine Macworld. Some colors appear to be quite unique and have not yet been seen in this form on an Apple smartphone.
iPhone 17 and 17 Air
According to the report, Apple is planning a total of six variants of the new standard model, the iPhone 17. These are black, white, “steel gray,” green, purple, and light blue. In contrast, Apple is taking a more restrained approach with the new iPhone 17 Air, which is said to be particularly thin and will apparently only offer four colors: black, white, light blue (similar to “sky blue” on the MacBook Air), and light gold.

As usual, the new iPhones will be available in different storage variants, resulting in countless SKUs (stock keeping units, item numbers) for Apple's retail stores, online store, and independent retailers. That alone is considered a logistical masterpiece. As usual, special and newer colors are likely to be harder to come by than standard colors such as black and white.
iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max
Apple is reportedly planning five new colors for the two Pro models of the iPhone 17, the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. The special color this year is orange, which apparently has a copper-like “fluorescent” finish. Otherwise, there will be black, white, gray (a different shade than "steel gray"), and dark blue. The Max model will not get any additional colors compared to the smaller Pro model. Black and white are said to be the same as the iPhone 16.
In addition to Macworld, other leakers have also confirmed the color scheme. Meanwhile, another current rumor concerns the type of housing: Apple is reportedly removing titanium from the Pro models and using an aluminum frame. According to analyst Jeff Pu from GF Securities in Hong Kong, only the iPhone 17 Air will feature titanium this year. All iPhone 17 models are expected to be released in early to mid-September. The week of September 8 is considered a possible keynote date, with a release in the following week.
