iOS 26: Continue waiting for the public beta, macOS 26 available shortly
The Apple scene is waiting for Apple to make the first public preview version of iOS 26 available. macOS 26 is said to have been available for a short time.

Well over half of July has passed, but there is still no sign of a public beta version of Apple's new operating systems. It is possible that the time will come today (Tuesday) or tomorrow (Wednesday). At least that's what information from an "anonymous leaker with a proven track record" suggests, as Macrumors writes. According to this, the fourth developer betas could be released on Tuesday, followed by the public betas tomorrow. Alternatively, a simultaneous release would also be possible on Tuesday – but not until the evening, we would guess 7pm.
Build numbers are already available
Apple will therefore present build 23A5297i of iOS 26 and iPadOS 26, build 25A5316i of macOS 26, build 23J5316g of tvOS 26 and HomePod Software 26 as well as builds 23R5317g and 23M5300g of watchOS 26 and visionOS 26.

These could then also represent the public beta, with the exception of visionOS 26, for which there will apparently be no public beta phase. Beta 4 should be even more stable than the current Beta 3 – Apple traditionally always tests several releases with developers before launching the public beta. This also makes a lot of sense.
Beta briefly escaped and caught again
Interestingly, macOS 26 alias Tahoe was briefly available as a public beta on Monday evening. Users whose Apple account is activated for betas may also have seen it under macOS 15 Sequoia. Only Apple Silicon Macs on which the Intel emulation layer Rosetta 2 was not yet installed were affected. If Rosetta 2 is installed on the Mac, the beta does not appear either. The build was the one from the leak, namely 25A5316i. According to Macrumors, the beta is labeled "macOS26PublicBeta1" in Apple's backend.
There are said to have been users who actually wanted to install the release candidate of macOS 15.6, which was also released on Monday evening, – and instead installed Tahoe on their Mac. Apple reacted relatively quickly and withdrew the public beta of macOS 26, which had apparently been released too early. Users who want to participate in testing should generally bear in mind that even public betas are not suitable for productive operation. They should therefore only be used on test devices and preferably not with real data (including iCloud) in order to rule out problems.
