Tomorrow is the day: Apple's iPhone presentation this year will take place at 7 pm Central European Time. As has been the case for the past five years, the keynote will most likely take place in the form of a recorded video. Selected journalists, analysts, and influencers have also been invited to Cupertino so that they can take a first look at the devices immediately after the event.

The focus this year will be on the iPhone 17 series, should Apple not have decided on a name change based on the year, as with iOS 26 & Co. Four devices are expected: a standard model as the iPhone 17, an iPhone 17 Air with a new form factor and two Pro versions – iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. The iPhone 17, presumably with 6.1 inches, is likely to see the least change: In addition to the slightly faster A19 SoC, observers expect above all a better camera unit still with two sensors on the back, which could be arranged long ago this time to enable spatial shots. The Dynamic Island on the front could possibly be slightly smaller.

A new form factor is expected for the iPhone 17 Air: the thinnest iPhone ever at 5.5 mm. The 6.6-inch device could just beat the Galaxy S25 Edge in terms of thickness. However, there is probably only one camera on the back and the battery is rather weak. Apple wants to counteract this with AI-supported battery management. It remains to be seen how durable the device will be overall. An A19 will probably also be working inside, albeit possibly with fewer cores to save power. It is possible that Apple will also do away with the SIM card in Europe and rely entirely on eSIMs.

The iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max (possibly 6.4 and 6.9 inches) are the fastest new iPhones. They will probably be equipped with the A19 Pro chip. Apple is likely to reserve plenty of space for the new cameras in its keynote. The new module takes up the entire width of the device and promises better optical zoom and possibly 8K video recording. The selfie camera at the front is set to deliver 24 megapixels for the first time. Apple is reportedly using aluminum instead of titanium as the housing material, which is unusual for a Pro model. The back is now only partially made of glass and there is said to be a surface, possibly specially colored, for MagSafe and Qi2.2. In terms of accessories, Apple is planning new "TechWoven" sleeves with lanyard attachment and a new clear case.

In addition to the iPhones, Apple is likely to show at least two other product ranges at the "Awe dropping" keynote. A new Ultra (3) is finally expected for the Apple Watch, as well as a Series 11 (slight improvements) and a new SE model. The Ultra is likely to get 5G and satellite communication for the first time, and there are also hopes for new sensors, possibly finally for blood pressure too. The AirPods Pro 3 will also feature improved ANC, possibly heart rate monitoring for the first time and a new charging case with touch operation. It remains to be seen whether Apple has any other surprises up its sleeve – for example in terms of AI. New iPads and other devices are also more likely to be released in October.

Whatever is presented: As always, Mac & i will be there with a live ticker and will follow the keynote in a minute-by-minute report. There will also be preliminary coverage from Tuesday afternoon.
