Apple is discontinuing these iPhones and Apple Watch models after the keynote
As usual, Apple is also phasing out old models with new iPhones. These smartphone variants and Apple Watch models are saying bye-bye.

Apple is officially discontinuing a whole range of devices following the launch of the iPhone 17. As always, the company is initially withdrawing them from its own retail stores and the Apple Online Store, with the retail channels following in a few months' time—although some popular models will certainly remain available for longer.
iPhone gallery: Seven models still on sale
All iPhone 15 variants are now no longer on sale. These were most recently the 15 and 15 Plus models. There are no more Pro and Pro Max models of the iPhone 16. These will be replaced by the 17 series. The iPhone 16, 16 Plus, and the entry-level model 16e will continue to be sold. Apple is thus following its usual approach of discontinuing the Pro models from the previous year and keeping the cheaper variants in the range.
This means that there are currently a total of seven different iPhones available from Apple: iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone Air, iPhone 17, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, and iPhone 16e. Prices start with the iPhone 16e with 128 GB for 699 euros. The range ends with the iPhone 17 Pro Max with 2 TByte, which costs a whopping 2449 euros.

Apple Watch changes in the range
The introduction of the Apple Watch Series 11, the SE 3, and the Ultra 3 also changes Apple's portfolio of computer watches. A total of three model series are being discontinued. The Series 10 can no longer be purchased from Apple and will be replaced by the Series 11. The same applies to the entry-level SE 2 watch, which will be followed by the (much more attractive, because better equipped) SE 3. And the Ultra 2 is also no longer available, being replaced by the Ultra 3 (larger screen, 5G, satellite radio).
The SE 2 and Ultra 2 were both getting on in years. Apple had already presented the Ultra 2 in autumn 2023, and in 2024 there was only a rather uninteresting color update. The SE 2, on the other hand, dates back to 2022. The latest model to be discontinued is the Series 10, which has been on the market for almost exactly one year. The discontinuation of the devices at Apple itself is also likely to have an impact on prices in independent retail. As long as the models continue to be sold to resellers, prices are likely to fall. Users should take a look at the heise price comparison.
