Apple updated its operating systems Monday evening. iOS 26.0.1, macOS 26.0.1 and the like fix bugs and plug gaps. Updates are also available for older systems.

Bug fix for everyone: iOS 26.0.1, iPadOS 26.0.1, macOS 26.0.1, visionOS 26.0.1, tvOS 26.0.1, and watchOS 26.0.2 are now available for download. Apple is thus fixing the first bugs that have occurred in its new operating systems.
iOS and iPadOS: Major bugs fixed
Apple has announced that iOS 26.0.1 fixes problems with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections on the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and Air. This apparently involved incompatibilities and/or the power-saving mode of the new Apple N1 wireless chip. Photos taken under certain lighting conditions with the four new iPhones sometimes contained black artefacts, which should no longer occur.

“Some” iPhones were also no longer able to connect to the mobile network after the upgrade to version 26. Finally, bugs in the icon display (which remained empty after changing the color setting) and the VoiceOver voice control were fixed. The latter was potentially a serious issue for visually impaired people. iPadOS 26.0.1 fixes the VoiceOver issue, possibly also the bug itself and a bug where the on-screen keyboard moved to unexpected places. It is still unclear whether Apple will also fix a problem in connection with the download of Apple Intelligence base models on the new iPhones.
macOS 26.0.1 and the other systems
macOS 26.0.1 fixes a bug that prevented the operating system from being installed on Mac Studio M3 Ultra machines. Other bug fixes should also be included. watchOS 26.0.2 (which follows watchOS 26.0.1, which unlocked satellite features on the Apple Watch Ultra 3 for Mexico) also contains bug fixes, as do visionOS 26.0.1, tvOS 26.0.1, and the HomePod software 26.0.1.
Security holes have also been plugged. In iOS 26.0.1 and iPadOS 26.0.1, this is a bug in the FontParser that could cause apps to crash and corrupt process memory. This bug was also present in macOS 26.0 and has been fixed in macOS 26.0.1. Fixes for this are also included in visionOS 26.0.1, but not in watchOS 26.0.2 and tvOS 26.0.1, which according to Apple do not contain any security improvements. The FontParser vulnerability is also patched in macOS 14.8.1 (Sonoma), macOS 15.7.1 (Sequoia), iOS 18.7.1, and iPadOS 18.8.1.
