iPad Pro M5: What hasn't been leaked yet
Leaks from the US authority FCC and from Russia already seem to reveal almost everything about Apple's new Pro tablets. But certain details are still missing.

A lot of information is already known about Apple's new Pro-class iPads, which are expected to be launched on the market in October. The US communications regulator, the FCC, has revealed several model numbers, and a Russian YouTuber has already shown the new device with its M5 chip and benchmark in a video after the tablet may have escaped the supply chain on its way from China. However, some details that had been rumored in advance are still unclear. They concern the camera equipment, among other things.
What is already known
As the name suggests, the iPad Pro M5 has an M5 processor and will probably be available in 11-inch and 13-inch versions as usual. According to the benchmarks, Apple has also worked on the RAM and now equips the devices with up to 12 GB instead of 8 GB. The Geekbench 6 results are 12 percent faster in multi-core tests and 36 percent faster in GPU tests, compared to the M4 from last year.

The 256 GByte model is already equipped with the aforementioned 12 MByte, as Apple already uses in the Pro models of the iPhone 17 and the iPhone Air. The 256 and 512 GByte models of the iPad Pro M4 only had 8 GByte RAM, which doubled to 16 GByte in the 1 and 2 TByte versions. However, it remains unclear whether Apple will end up with 24 GB for these versions of the iPad Pro M5. The OLED and general design are apparently not changing; even the packaging remains the same. However, Apple will reportedly omit the brand name “iPad Pro” on the back.
The question of the selfie camera
What is confusing, however, is that Apple is apparently not installing a second selfie camera, as the rumor mill had expected. Instead, the Russian video shows no evidence of this. Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman wrote on Sunday that he could “say with certainty” that the iPad Pro M5 devices used by Apple “have the second lens”.
However, in the past, the company has also tested functions up to an advanced stage and then dropped them, such as certain storage capacities or a second dock connector, as was once intended for the original iPad. Nevertheless, he considers the omission of the second selfie camera to be a “strange last-minute omission.”
