Google Cloud has moved all of its technical documentation to the new domain docs.cloud.google.com. The transition is part of a comprehensive AI transformation of documentation creation and delivery.
The new platform relies on a unified technical foundation that serves as the basis for AI-powered features. Google is using its in-house AI model Gemini for writing the documentation. Translation is also AI-assisted, allowing the company to make documentation for most products available in twelve languages, including German—significantly more than before.
Google Cloud authors use Gemini directly in their writing environment, which is intended to function as a “productivity multiplier.” To make the new platform faster and more responsive, Google has also optimized the code and reduced backend complexity.
URL Structure Largely Remains the Same
For the migration, Google has retained the existing URL structure. cloud.google.com/compute/docs/instances will become docs.cloud.google.com/compute/docs/instances in the future. In the coming weeks, visitors will be automatically redirected from the old URLs to the new domain. Old links should continue to work for the foreseeable future.

The previous domain cloud.google.com will remain for other content: blog posts, product overviews, and pricing information will continue to be available there. Only the technical documentation will move entirely to the new subdomain. Further details about the transition can be found in the Google Blog.
