No extra subscription: Major League Soccer soon part of Apple TV
Until now, people interested in US soccer have had to pay extra. After initial free games for Apple TV customers, the entire program is now available.

On Apple TV, the US MajorLeague, which previously cost an additional 39 Euros per season, will be included in the subscription from next year, which currently costs 9.99 Euros per month. "Starting next season, fans will be able to watch all regular season games, the annual Leagues Cup, the MLS All-Star Game, the Campeones Cup, the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs, and much more – all included in the Apple TV subscription," the company announced. MLS is the top American soccer league – primarily known for being where prominent European and South American players like to spend their final professional years.
Apple TV Subscribers Get Season Ticket
At the end of the year, the current paid "MLS Season Pass" will expire. Apple had already hinted at wanting to market MLS more broadly. For example, there were weekly free games starting at the beginning of the year, and Apple is also broadcasting the MLS Cup 2025 for subscribers at no extra charge. Apple had negotiated with MLS about making the games part of Apple TV. Don Garber, Commissioner of the MLS, praised the deal.
He said it would take the league's vision "to the next level" by making it easier than ever for fans to follow the games. In addition to the matches themselves, there will be various studio formats plus on-demand content about MLS. The games are to be available in over 100 countries and regions, and the annoying regional blackouts, as seen in US baseball, are not present.

Baseball and Formula 1
As mentioned, Apple currently prices Apple TV at 9.99 Euros. In the USA, however, the company significantly increased the price in August – from 9,99 US dollars to 12,99 US dollars. It remains unclear whether this increase will also occur in Europe by next year.
Apple TV, which previously was called Apple TV+, currently shines with freedom from advertising. However, Apple services chief Eddy Cue, who manages the offering, did not want to rule out that this will change in the future. Apple also offers other sports, at least partially for free. This includes "Friday Night Baseball" with two games each. In the USA, Apple also bought Formula 1, which is also free for Apple TV customers; however, the company lacks EU rights.
