The developers of the collaborative document platform La Suite Docs have released version 3.10.0. The software is primarily intended for joint editing of notes, wiki pages, and documentation texts. The update's central feature is the export of documents in ODT format – primarily for interoperability with other office applications such as LibreOffice. Previously, texts could be exported as PDFs and in Word format.
In addition to the new export format, the developers have revised the version for smartphones. The interface now displays the number of subdocuments on mobile devices, which facilitates navigation in more complex document structures. Furthermore, embedded PDF files now utilize the full available width, while the button for the document summary remains fixed when scrolling, thus remaining permanently visible.
The developers also focused on improving accessibility. ARIA attributes in the document overview and editor have been revised, and the accessibility of the summary table has been optimized. Modal dialogs now support focus trapping and can be operated with the Enter key.

Bug fixes in export and frontend
Bug fixes focused on export functions: Images are now limited to a maximum width of 600 pixels during export to avoid overflow issues. The alignment of table cells in exported documents has been corrected, as has the preservation of aspect ratios for images in PDF export. A problem with exporting documents containing formatted content has been resolved.
In the frontend area, the developers corrected the alignment of the side menu and fixed an issue with fallback translations. When entering text, the @ symbol is now retained if the Escape key is pressed after its input – a small but important improvement for usability.
On the security side, the update closes a vulnerability that allowed privilege escalation in the ask_for_access viewset. Additionally, the developers removed the API for managing templates from the backend. All changes can be found in the Release Notes on GitHub.
Sovereign Workplace
La Suite Docs is an open-source tool for collaborative document editing, developed as an alternative to proprietary solutions. The project relies on open standards and is part of the free La Suite numérique. This is a French government initiative that develops a collection of open-source applications for digital collaboration and teamwork. It was developed by French government agencies such as DINUM and ANCT, but the German ZenDiS is also involved. The goal is to make the digital work environment safer and more sovereign for public administrations.
