Withings Body Scan 2: Scale records data on heart, vessels, and metabolism
Withings presents the Body Scan 2 body composition scale at CES 2026. The device is said to record over 60 health values and detect risks early.
The smart personal scale Withings Body Scan 2 combines several medical measurement procedures.
The French medical technology company Withings describes its Body Scan 2 body composition scale, presented at "CES Unveiled," as a comprehensive health monitoring station for home use.
Sensors and electrodes are integrated under a tempered glass surface. Visually, the Body Scan 2 differs from the manufacturer's previous segment body composition scales primarily because the LCD (color) display has moved to the extendable handle. Two integrated buttons also allow users to answer personalized questions about their lifestyle and receive direct tips for a longer and healthier life. As with previous models, the scale has a rechargeable battery built in, which is intended to power the device for up to 15 months. According to the manufacturer, all health data is automatically synchronized via WLAN or Bluetooth with the Withings app on the user's smartphone. With compliance with GDPR and HIPAA, as well as certifications according to ISO 27001 and ISO 27701, Withings states that it offers the highest possible security and data protection.
One and a half minutes on the scale
Weighing takes a little longer than with an analog body composition scale: Body Scan 2 requires you to stand on the device for about 90 seconds. In return, it is said to be able to record more than 60 clinically relevant biomarkers.
The manufacturer aims to make early changes in the cardiovascular system, metabolism, and cell health visible before symptoms occur. The data is analyzed using AI via the Withings app and supplemented with tips for long-term health monitoring.

Data from medical measurement procedures
Body Scan 2 combines several medical measurement procedures that were previously likely only known to medical professionals. These include impedance cardiography in conjunction with a 6-lead ECG to assess cardiac performance and detect heart rhythm disorders such as atrial fibrillation.
In addition, the scale determines pulse wave velocity as a measure of arterial stiffness in the arms and legs to determine arterial elasticity and vascular age. Ultra-high frequency bioimpedance spectroscopy (BIS) provides data on cell health, active cell mass, and metabolic efficiency. AI models are also intended to indicate an increased risk of high blood pressure and disorders of blood sugar regulation – without a blood pressure cuff or blood sample.
Body Scan 2 summarizes the measurement results in a health trend score. Users can track how their health develops over a longer period. Positive changes can provide incentives for a better lifestyle.
Price and availability
Withings developed Body Scan 2 together with research centers for heart and metabolic diseases. Market launch is planned for the second quarter of 2026, depending on the CE approval of the respective measurement functions. The recommended retail price is 499.95 euros.
