This is what Apple is said to be planning for the Studio Display 2
Details about the Studio Display 2 have also leaked as part of software leaks. Users can therefore look forward to long-awaited features.

As part of a larger leak, which originates from internal Apple sources, information about Apple's next standard display has also surfaced. There have been rumors about the Studio Display 2 for many months, but so far only a few details. According to “internal Apple code” – including an iOS 26 pre-release version and a kernel debug kit that escaped – refresh rate and the processor used are now fixed, among other things. However, it cannot be said with certainty whether Apple will change anything here retrospectively.
A19 instead of A13, HDR instead of SDR
According to the leak, Apple is using a current ARM chip as the controller unit in the Studio Display 2. It is allegedly the A19, which is found in the iPhone 17. It controls, among other things, the camera integrated into the display and other hardware functions such as the microphones. Apple uses the A13 from the iPhone 11 in the current Studio Display, which was released in 2022.
Much more interesting for normal users: The Studio Display 2 is expected to finally support High Dynamic Range images for the first time and go up to a 120 Hz (Apple calls this ProMotion) refresh rate. Currently, the first-generation Studio Display only supports SDR (Standard Dynamic Range) and a maximum of 60 Hz refresh rate.

Brighter and more resolution?
Whether the resolution – currently 5K – the size or other features will change remains unclear. Thanks to HDR, however, a higher image brightness than the current 600 nits can be expected – 1000 nits with 1600 nits “Peak Brightness” for HDR content, as with the MacBook Pro, would be conceivable.
Apple is also likely to use newer Thunderbolt ports (currently TB3) and possibly improve the webcam and speakers. The codename of the new display is J527. It will likely be released together with the first M5 generation of the Mac Studio – possibly still in the first half of the year. It probably won't be cheap – Apple currently charges 1749 euros for the standard version and 1999 Euros with “nano-texture glass.” However, the street price is cheaper.
