The Finnish company Verge Motorcycles promises an end to range anxiety on two wheels: It has unveiled an electric motorcycle with a solid-state battery that is said to have a long range. According to the manufacturer, it is the first production motorcycle with such a battery.
The Finnish manufacturer is replacing the conventional lithium-ion batteries in its machines with novel solid-state batteries. This is possible because the motorcycles are designed modularly, explains Verge Motorcycles in a video. This allows components to be replaced when new technologies become available without the motorcycle having to be redeveloped.

The solid-state batteries come from the company Donut Lab. They are considered a significant advance in storage technology: these batteries have a considerably higher energy density than lithium-ion batteries, meaning they store more electricity in the same size. They can also be charged faster and cannot catch fire.
Verge is equipping the TS Pro with a battery that stores 33.3 kilowatt-hours. According to the manufacturer, this should allow the motorcycle to travel 600 kilometers, the company announced. That would be over 200 kilometers more than with the lithium-ion battery. Charging is done with a maximum power of 200 kilowatts. In about ten minutes, enough electricity for a range of 300 kilometers should be charged.
Smaller battery variant
In addition, the manufacturer offers a smaller battery variant with a capacity of 20.2 kilowatt-hours. This is intended to provide a range of 350 kilometers.
What is special about the e-motorcycles from Finland is their rear wheel: it has no hub and no chain. The drive is a rim motor, where the rim serves as the rotor and the hub as the stator. It is built by Donut Lab, like the battery.
The drive has a power of 102 kilowatts and a maximum torque of 1000 Newton meters. This allows the motorcycle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. The top speed is limited to 200 km/h.

Verge Motorcycles offers two variants of the TS Pro as well as the TS Ultra with the new battery. The cheaper TS Pro starts at just under 36,600 euros, the more expensive one at just under 37,800 euros. The TS Ultra is available from just over 54,400 euros. The machines can already be ordered. The Finns cite the first quarter of 2026 as the delivery date for the TS Pro. The TS Ultra is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter.
