Crease-free: Samsung display discovered that could fit the iPhone Fold
It is known that Apple wants to reduce the creasing area on its first foldable smartphone. A suitable screen was shown at CES.

At the CES tech trade show in Las Vegas, a screen from Samsung Display briefly appeared that would fit well with Apple's future iPhone foldable, which is expected in September. The product was discovered by the specialist blog SamMobile and is said to have been removed again meanwhile. The latter apparently happened abruptly. Samsung has not yet commented.
Crease-free foldable
The display was shown in a demonstration area, where it was placed next to an unfolded Galaxy Z Fold 7. A sign mentioned "Crease Test" and an "Advanced Crease-less" screen. Both devices were set up to compare the respective creasing.

The topic of "crease" has been occupying the foldable market since its inception. All current foldable smartphones show more or less visible creasing depending on the light – at the point where they are folded. This area is also palpable during operation. For a long time, this was considered technically unavoidable. Apple is said to have worked internally on ways to prevent this, but Samsung was apparently also working on its own devices. Ironically, the South Korean company is, along with LG (and, for Chinese models, also BOE), the most important display supplier for Apple's iPhone – and is also said to be for the first foldable, as the supply chain believes.
Aspect ratio different at Apple
In a video, SamMobile claims to have "possibly" seen the display for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 at CES. The folding area is "significantly less visible" than on the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Whether Apple's version looks the same or is even more crease-free remains to be seen.
As early as July, it was reported that Samsung also wanted to try to reduce the crease. This involves, among other things, a metal plate that is intended to smooth the screen without it breaking. However, the dimensions of the display shown at CES were apparently different from planned by Apple. They correspond to those of the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
