Dyna-robot folds laundry by itself
It works without breaks or human intervention, albeit slowly. The US company Dyna Robotics has developed a robot that folds laundry.

Slowly and deliberately, the Dyna-robot folds one garment after another at the Dyna Robotics booth at CES 2026. With its precise robotic fingers, it reaches into the laundry basket, often having to try up to five times before catching a corner. But then it pulls a piece of fabric onto the table in front of it, folds it into a perfect rectangle, turns it so that it lies parallel to the tabletop, and places it on the pile of its already completed work.
Human hands could undoubtedly do this much faster. On the other hand, the Dyna-robot doesn't take smoke breaks, doesn't have a lunch break, and works much longer than eight hours every day.
Continuous operation without human intervention
The industrial robot is intended to automate monotonous manual labor in commercial environments. According to the company, the robot works for more than 24 hours straight without human intervention. In internal tests, the system achieved a success rate of over 99 percent. Two permanently installed robot arms handle the gripping, aligning, and folding of the laundry items.
Dyna already uses its robots in hotels, laundries, and other service businesses. There, they run up to 16 hours a day in regular operation. In addition to folding laundry, it can also fold napkins or package textiles.
Learning on the job
The California-based company Dyna Robotics has developed its own AI foundation model called DYNA-1 for it. It is designed to learn from real-world applications. The robot adapts to new environments without prior specific training. An integrated evaluation system detects errors and corrects the arm movements based on them.

Funding and further plans
In September 2025, Dyna Robotics closed a funding round of 120 million US dollars. The company plans to use the capital to further develop its robots and expand their use to other industries. In the long term, Dyna aims to offer versatile industrial robots.
