Against folder chaos: Tool adds preview to macOS Finder
Anyone who has large amounts of file folders on their Mac quickly loses track. A small Finder tool helps here.
Folder Preview Pro: A feature that could also come from Apple.

Many users fill their Mac desktops with countless files and folders. While these can be visually tidied up using the stack view, a quick way to review them is missing in Finder windows. This is where the small tool Folder Preview helps: it adds a folder view to the macOS preview Quick Look, also known as Overview, which Apple has not included for inexplicable reasons so far.
Folders and Archives
Folder Preview works extremely simply: after installation, you select a folder in Finder (or on the desktop) and press the space bar. Instead of the simple folder icon with storage consumption and date, the entire content of the folder appears. The function is available not only in Finder and on the desktop but also in any other standard file view – including in apps. The preview can be configured (hide columns), and thumbnails are shown for images, PDFs, and SVGs. A preview of archive files (zip, tar, gz, 7z, rar) is also included.

The app, which comes from the developer Anybox, is offered in two versions: a standard version available via the App Store, costing 2.99 Euros, and a Pro version distributed via the web. The reason: The Pro version contains system-level functions that Apple does not allow in the App Store due to sandboxing. Thus, the Pro version can display all file types that Finder supports as thumbnails, show info dialogs, navigate within other folders, and directly open or copy individual files.
More Features in the Pro Version
Folder Preview Pro costs a one-time payment of 9.99 US dollars, with a purchase of the App Store version being credited. This is done by clicking on “Upgrade” in Folder Preview. Users of Folder Preview Pro should delete Folder Preview so that the apps do not interfere with each other.
When previewing archives, it should be noted that Folder Preview must first unpack them temporarily. This can, in turn, consume SSD space. Deletion occurs automatically “after a certain period.”
