With Creator Studio:Will Macs with M5 Pro and M5 Max be released end of January?
Apple currently only offers one M5 Mac – and it's a mid-range model. When could Max and Pro follow?

With the M5, Apple is keeping users in suspense this time: instead of launching MacBook Pro models with the standard processor, as well as the Pro and Max models simultaneously in the fall, as usual, only the MacBook Pro M5 with 14 inches was released in October. In addition to the iPad Pro M5 in two sizes and the Vision Pro M5, this is currently the only machine with Apple's latest processor. Now there are speculations about when the MacBook Pro M5 Pro and MacBook Pro M5 Max might follow. Apple itself provided the occasion with the announcement of its new Creator Studio subscription package.
Creator Studio for Professionals
Because it's not being released immediately but will only come onto the market on January 28th. Previously, there had already been information from informed circles that Apple might follow up with the M5 in the first month of the year. The US magazine Macworld and other observers believe that January 28th is a good date. This is a Wednesday, alongside Tuesday, Apple's preferred day for new products.
In addition, the Creator Studio is specifically aimed at professionals; it includes Logic Pro, Final Cut Pro, and supporting tools, plus professional templates for iWork programs. It remains unclear whether Apple plans an event for the faster M5 models or will introduce them via press release. The fact that the Creator Studio was announced in advance speaks for the latter. While M5 Pro and M5 Max in the MacBook Pro promise speed improvements over the M5, the chip series itself has already been introduced. Major redesigns for the MacBook Pro, which is always available in a 16-inch version in Pro and Max configurations, are not planned before autumn, when the M6 variant with OLED might appear.

Running local LLMs
According to Apple, the M5 is primarily intended to deliver more AI performance – thanks to new GPU cores with an integrated AI accelerator (Neural Accelerator). The CPU has also become slightly more performant and efficient, received an improved Neural Engine and more memory bandwidth.
Apple emphasizes that this allows large language models to run more performantly directly on the device, although this will likely only appeal to a very niche audience. M5 Pro and M5 Max will have even more cores but will also be even pricier.
