Sage Operations: AI Assistant for Manufacturing and Trade
Sage integrates the AI assistant Copilot into its ERP software Sage Operations. It is intended to enable better control of supply chains via a chat function.
The AI assistant Sage Copilot provides warning notifications, for example, about orders sent late, in the context of the customer currently opened by the user.

The provider Sage has integrated the AI assistant Sage Copilot into its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, Sage Operations. The software is aimed at small and medium-sized companies in manufacturing and distribution. Customers in Germany can now use the functions in an early access program.
Sage Copilot is intended to help companies better manage customer contact, supply chains, and order processing. The AI assistant answers questions, for example, about the most frequently requested products and displays hints and warnings in the work context so that employees can react to delays, bottlenecks, and exceptions.
Integration into Sage Operations
The AI assistant is integrated into the Sage Operations interface. It accesses current data from orders, inventory, procurement, and delivery. Hints appear in the respective masks without users having to switch applications or manually transfer data.
Processing is done via the Sage platform, which connects ERP data with AI services. The assistant only uses data for which users have authorization. Sage takes over the existing role and rights system for this.
Foundation for further AI agents
With the update, Sage is laying a technical foundation for further AI agents. They are intended to take over tasks in manufacturing and sales processes, such as monitoring key figures or identifying deviations in supply chains.
According to Sage, these agents are in an advanced development phase and access the same data models and interfaces as Sage Operations.

Dialog-based queries and data maintenance
A dialog-capable assistant processes questions in natural language. Users retrieve information about inventory, orders, or delivery dates. The assistant presents the results clearly and can output them as Excel or CSV tables.
After explicit approval, users can also create or change data records via the assistant, for example, for customer master data or order status.
Sage operates Sage Operations as a cloud service and takes care of hosting, maintenance, and data backup. Customers use the software on a subscription basis, and the provider installs updates.
