Adobe has introduced new features for its image editing software Photoshop. The focus is on new adjustment layers, revised AI tools, and a new text tool in beta.
New Adjustment Layers
For the first time in a long time, Adobe is integrating a new set of adjustment layers into Photoshop. The sliders for "Clarity," "Dehaze," and "Grain," familiar from Lightroom, can now be applied non-destructively and combined with layer masks.
Clarity enhances local contrast and emphasizes structures without sharpening the entire image. "Dehaze" affects contrast and color mood to make hazy or flat shots appear clearer. Grain adds more texture to images and reduces digital smoothness. The intensity, size, and character of the digital film grain can be adjusted.

Revised AI Tools
The AI features related to Adobe Firefly include "Generative Fill," "Generative Expand," and the Remove Tool. Updated models generate 2K resolution and are intended to provide more detail.
According to Adobe, the tools implement text prompts more reliably and create cleaner transitions between existing and generated image parts than before. Lighting and depth of field are said to appear more natural. For retouching, the manufacturer promises fewer artifacts and more uniform surfaces.
When using Generative Fill with reference images, Photoshop will soon be able to not only adopt the style, colors, or mood but also consider specific objects from a template, according to Adobe. The program recognizes geometry and perspective and adapts inserted content to the size, light, color, and viewpoint of the target scene. Adobe aims to avoid breaks where inserted elements do not fit the environment.
Adobe Firefly is expected to be able to recognize objects in reference images and integrate them into existing scenes in the future.

Dynamic Text (Beta)
Adobe has released dynamic text so far only in beta. This allows text layers to be bent, curved, or arranged in a circle with a click. Photoshop automatically adjusts text size and flow to a selected shape without detours via paths.
Adobe is releasing a tool that allows text to flow along curves, initially in beta status.

The improved features for Generative Fill, Generative Expand, and Remove are also expected to be available in the Photoshop web app. Dynamic Text will initially launch as a beta feature.
